COPD Patient Taskforce
The Australian Lung Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Australian COPD Patient Taskforce.
Chaired by COPD patient Bryan Clift (SA), this group comprises up to three COPD patients from each of the states and territories. Its objective is to work together to raise awareness of COPD at a local level through contact with local media and local politicians. Caroline Scowcroft (ACT) has been a long-time carer and acts as Deputy Chair of the Taskforce. This is an inspirational group of energetic and passionate people which has big plans for the future.
Anyone interested in being kept informed about the group's work or would like to get involved at a state level, should email Heather Allan at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Patient Taskforce Speaker Kit
One of the roles of the Patient Taskforce delegates is to assist with raising awareness about COPD in the general community. On occasion, delegates are invited to speak about the symptoms, prevalence and treatment of COPD along with coping tips and lifestyle strategies. The COPD Patient Taskforce Speaker Kit has been developed so that the delegates can use this resource in a social setting to educate members of the general public and answer any questions raised after the slide show is viewed.
