CICADA Multi-disciplinary Group

About the CICADA Multi-disciplinary Group

The Cough In Children and Adults: Diagnosis and Assessment (CICADA) Group was established in 2006 and assists The Australian Lung Foundation to improve prevention, management and community awareness of cough. This group consists of clinicians who manage patients with chronic cough.

The CICADA group conducted a survey at The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) annual scientific meeting in 2007. The results from this survey are currently being used to develop cough guidelines for clinicians in Australia. Within the CICADA group a multi-disciplinary scientific committee has been formed to develop the guideline in order to ensure relevance and capture the expertise of the many potential disciplines that can contribute to the effective management of people with chronic cough.

The group submitted a position statement on Australian Cough Guidelines summary statement to The Medical Journal of Australia (MJA) which was published in March 2010. Click the below link to view the published statement.
