What is this adventure?
The Great Wall of China has fuelled the imagination of travellers for generations. On this adventure, you’ll not only see the picturesque vision of the Great Wall snaking across mountaintops, but you’ll also have the unique opportunity to experience the real China, as you stay in local villages and sleep on a traditional heated bed.
You’ll crouch close to the Great Wall to decipher the poems and stories written on the bricks, get lost in the maze-like Street of Eight Diagrams, and marvel at the commanding trees and flowers that overrun parts of the Wall. Immerse yourself in one of the world’s oldest cultures, see a landmark that continuously dominates the list of world wonders, and support medical research into the prevention and diagnoses of lung disease.
FUNDRAISING TARGET: $6,950 (including $3,950 + taxes of approx. $350 for travel costs and $3,000 donated to the Australian Lung Foundation)
REGISTRATION FEE: $700 (Please note the registration fee is in addition to the fundraising target of $6,950 and is non-refundable)
TRIP DURATION: 10 days
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: 5 day trek
CHALLENGE GRADE: 3/5, moderate
ACCOMMODATION: Hotels, guesthouses and homestays
