The Australian Lung Foundation submission to the National Health & Hospital Reform Commission

The National Health & Hospital Review Commission was established to provide advice on performance benchmarks and practical reforms to the Australian health system which could be implemented in both the short and long term, to address a range of challenges, including:

  • Access to services
  • The growing burden of chronic disease
  • Population ageing
  • Costs and inefficencies generated by blame and cost shifting
  • Escalating costs of new health challenges.

The Australian Lung Foundation lodged the attached submission on Friday 30 May 2008.
