Test Your Lungs Day

yollogo copy.jpgAs part of 2010: The International Year of the Lung, the American College of Chest Physicians and other members of the Federation of International Respiratory Societies are excited to announce the first World Spirometry Day (WSD). Observed on October 14, WSD provides all health-care professionals the opportunity to promote the diagnosis of lung conditions, encourage people to get their lungs tested, and to raise awareness about lung health.

spirometry.jpgThe Australian Lung Foundation has re-branded this event as Test your Lungs Day in an attempt to raise awareness amongst the general public who may not be aware of the term “spirometry”.

On October 14, The Australian Lung Foundation will be coordinating FREE lung function testing events around the country. An event will be held in each capital city and several regional events have also been planned.
