COPD Patient Taskforce
Lung Foundation Australia is pleased to announce the establishment of the Australian COPD Patient Taskforce.
Chaired by patient Megan Rushton (NSW), this group comprises up to three COPD patients from each of the states and territories. Its objective is to work together to raise awareness of COPD at a local level through contact with local media and local politicians. Roy Martin (NSW) acts as Deputy Chair and Jacquie Carey (QLD) as Secretary of the Taskforce. This is an inspirational group of energetic and passionate people with big plans for the future.

Patient Taskforce Speaker Kit
One of the roles of the Patient Taskforce delegates is to assist with raising awareness about COPD in the general community. On occasion, delegates are invited to speak about the symptoms, prevalence and treatment of COPD along with coping tips and lifestyle strategies. The COPD Patient Taskforce Speaker Kit has been developed so that the delegates can use this resource in a social setting to educate members of the general public and answer any questions raised after the slide show is viewed.
